Question

Explain about photosynthesis.

Answer:

  • The process by which green plants prepare their own food using carbon dioxide, water, energy from the sun and chlorophyll is called photosynthesis.

  • Equation of photosynthesis

\tiny{\underline{\boxed{\sf Corbon \: dioxide + Water \underset{Sunlight}{\xrightarrow{\text{chlorophyll}}} Glucose + Oxygen}}}

Here,

  • Carbon dioxide is from air.
  • Water is from soil.
  • Chlorophyll in the leaves.
  • Glucose is food.
  • Sunlight from the sun.

Or in other language, equation of photosynthesis-

 {\boxed {\sf 6CO_{2} + 12H_{2}O \longrightarrow C_{6}H_{12}O_{6} + 6H_{2}O + 6O_{2} }}

______..

How does photosynthesis take place?

 \huge\implies To carry out photosynthesis ,plants need carbon dioxide, water, chlorophyll and the presence of sunlight.

  • At first, Carbon dioxide from the air enters the leaves through stomata.

  • Then, water which is usually present in the roots, reaches the leaves through xylem vessels.

  • After reaching, water reacts with carbon dioxide in the leaves in the presence of sunlight to produce glucose.

  • And then, oxygen is released in the process as by-product.

'ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏsʏɴᴛʜᴇsɪs' is the process in which green plants make their food with the involvement of some important substances. This all process is done by some important components.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤThe process of photosynthesis is done using H2O (Water), Co2 (carbon dioxide), Chlorophyll and many more components. Plants are known as autotrophs because plants make their own food with the help of some components. The process of photosynthesis involve the following substances :

  • (Co2) Carbon dioxide

  • Glucose (composition of some important gases which are present in the atmosphere)

  • Chlorophyll

  • Sunlight (This is common as we know that we obtain sunlight from Sun / sun is the source of sunlight)

  • (H2o) Water

First of all, we need the given (introduced) components which are needed for the process of photosynthesis and the process starts now, here is described as shown :

  • First and foremost thing that is to be needed is Carbon dioxide (Co2), which plant will obtain it from atmosphere.

  • After that carbon dioxide gas, will just enter in stomata.

  • Then water will enter in the plants through roots.

  • And now after the reaction of gases and components.

  • Oxygen will be released after all these process.

  • At last process of photosynthesis will will take place in plants, by which they can make their own in the presence of chlorophyll (sunlight), carbon dioxide, water, glucose, oxygen.

What is the formula of glucose and how can we say that formula of glucose is made ?

The formula of glucose : C6H12O6

We can say that the formula of glucose is made from 6 atoms of carbon, 12 atoms of hydrogen and 6 atoms of oxygen.

What is Atom ?

Atom is a small particle from which substances are made, it is a pixel (small dots) like substance, which cannot be seen with naked eyes.
