Given, the mass of the block is 2 kg.

To find, the net acceleration of the block kept on the smooth surface.

We know that, force (F) equals the product of mass (m) and acceleration (a).

Hence, the formula will be F = ma.

We also know that, the SI unit of force is Newton, which is denoted as N.

Net forceᅠ= [(12 + 10) - 20] N

ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠ= (22 - 20) N

ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠ= 2 N

By putting the respected value in the stated formula, we get

 \normalsize {\tt {~~~~~~~~~~~~~2 ~N ~= ~2~ kg ~ \times a}}

 \normalsize {\tt {\longrightarrow~~~~~ \frac{2~ N}{2~kg} = a }}

 \normalsize {\tt {\longrightarrow 1~N/kg = a}}

 \normalsize {\tt {\longrightarrow 1~m/{s}^{2} = a}}

Answer:

The net acceleration of the given block of mass 2 kg kept on the smooth surface is 1 m/s^2 .

{EXPLANATION}

Solution :-

If we sèe the picture

There is a block of mass 2kg and there are different forces acting on them

First we find the net force acting on the object

Conecpt to find the net force :-

Net force is nothing but Sum of algebraic forces acting on the body is called net force

☆ If the object moves in straght line and same direction net force is sum of the forces

☆If the object moves in straight line and opposite direction net force is the difference of the forces

_________________________

So, the force acting on the body is

F = (10N + 12N )- 20N

F = 22N - 20N

{\boxed{F = 2N}}

  • So, force acting on the body is 2N
  • Mass of the body is 2kg

We know that ,

Force = mass × acceleration

F = m× a

2 = 2 × a

{\boxed{a = 1 m/s^2 }}

So, the Acceleration of the body is 1m/s²
