Question :-

By what number should \rm \big(\frac{ - 4}{7}^{-1}\big) be divided so that the quotient may be \rm \big(\frac{ - 8}{7}^{-1}\big) ?

Answer :-

Let the number be x

\rm \dfrac{\Big(\dfrac{ - 4}{7}\Big)^{-1}}{x} = \Big(\dfrac{ - 8}{7}^{-1}\Big)

\rm \dfrac{ \dfrac{ \cancel {-} 7}{4} }{x} =  \dfrac{ \cancel {-}7}{8}

\rm \dfrac{ \dfrac{ \cancel {7}}{4} }{x} =  \dfrac{ \cancel {7}}{8}

\rm \dfrac{\dfrac{1}{4}}{x} = \dfrac{1}{8}

\rm 4x = 8

\rm x = \dfrac{8}{4}

\boxed{\rm x = 2}
