 \sqrt{12}  +  \sqrt{8}

 =  \sqrt{3}  \sqrt{4}  +  \sqrt{4}  \sqrt{2}

 =  \sqrt{4} ( \sqrt{3}  + \sqrt{2)}

 = 2( \sqrt{3}  +  \sqrt{2)}

√12 = 3.46

√8 = 2.82

so √12 + √8 = 6.28
