||✪✪ QUESTION ✪✪||

In a class, total number of boys is 50% of the total number of girls. On a particular day 2/3rd of the number of boys present in the class that day is 24 less than the total number of the girls in the class. On the same day, 10% of the girls were absent and overall attendance of the class was 80% .. Find the number of total students ?

|| ✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰ ||

Lets Assume That Their were 60x, Total girls in The class .

As Given Boys are 50% of The Total Number of Girls .

So , Total Boys in The class = 30x . (50% means Half).

Now,

Lets Assume That, The Boys Present That day are = B .

___________

Now, Given That, On a particular day 2/3rd of the number of boys present in the class that day is 24 less than the total number of the girls in the class.

So ,,

(2/3) of B = (Total girls - 24)

→ (2B)/3 = (60x - 24)

→ 2B = 3(60x - 24)

→ 2B = (180x - 72)

→ 2B = 2(90x - 36)

→ B = (90x - 36) ---------------------------- Equation (1).

____________

Now, Given That, On the same day, 10% of the girls were absent and overall attendance of the class was 80% ...

So,

10% of The Girls Absent That Means 90% were Present.

→ 90% of 60x = (90 * 60x)/100 = 54x.

And,

Total students Present = 80% of (60x + 30x)

→ Total students Present = (80 * 90x)/100 = 72x.

we Have Now :-

Total Boys Present That day = (90x - 36) { From Equation(1)}.

→ Total Girls present = 54x .

→ Total Students Present = 72x .

So,

Total Boys Present + Total Girls present = Total Students Present

(90x - 36) + 54x = 72x

→ 144x - 72x = 36

→ 72x = 36

→ x = (1/2).

________________________

Putting This Value Now, We get :-

Total Students = Total Girls + Total Boys .

→ Total students = 60x + 30x

→ Total students = 90x

→ Total students = 90 * (1/2)

→ Total students = 45. (Ans).

Hence, Their were Total 45 Students In The Class.
