Hey there,

Uncontrolled,abnormal and excessive mitotic division of cells is called cancer

Cancer cells just continue to divide giving rise to Tumors

There are 2 types of tumors

A] benign

These types of Tumor remain in one place and do not spread to other parts ,also causes less damage .

Can be cured

B] malignant

The kind of tumors which spreads from once place to other ,does more damage

This type of tumor cannot be cured.

Causes of cancer

  1. Due to ionising radiations (x rays,gamma rays )
  1. due to non ionising radiations (uv rays )causes damage to DNA
  2. Smoking
  3. Cancer gene (oncogene)
  4. Harmful chemicals
  1. Stress
Cure No cure has been found .(till now :/)Treatment
  1. Surgery
  1. Radiotherapy:(destroys the rapidly dividing cells)
  1. Chemotherapy.
