1)The normal range of platelets in blood is 150,000 - 400,000 per mm3 of blood .

2)When one recieves chemotherapy or radiation therapy, then there is a drop in no. of platelets in the body.

3)When there is any cut or tear in body then the body sends the platelets to that damaged region for blood clotting.This also results in drop in number of platelets.
