Hi! Guess how I am. You can’t? Well, in the simple words, I am the school. And I would like to say to you something about my life. Let’s start from the beginning.

My primary purpose is to be the place where the people will learn. I can be large or small. I can be in the city or in the village. A lot of people share their dreams and ambitions among my walls.

I have a lot of relatives in the world. But I never met them, as I cannot move from my place. But I know a lot about the world and the people that live in him.

Early life

School is something that exists since the ancient time. People always gathered in groups in some small houses so they can learn. Then somebody decided to establish me. I do not remember who is my father or mother. I was born in 1088 in Bologna in Italy. Even then I was a pretty large school. I had 11 buildings and about 85,500 students. The most of my students at that time were foreigners. The teachers were scholars from the city. My students had the opportunity to study the law, the Roman law to be precise. I gave my students the status of doctors when they finished their studies.

I was very famous at that time. A lot of people wrote about me, Frederic I Barbarossa was just one of them. I gave people the knowledge they wanted and a chance to improve themselves and their nation.

Later life

I exist to this day. I survived many wars, and I still managed to stay strong and tall. People invested in me, and from one century to another I become bigger and even more famous. Today, I am not just a school, I am a university.   The oldest university in the world.

Today I am a modern school, and I am ranked in the 1st place in Italy (77th place in the World) on the list of the best schools. I have produced some of the most famous people in the world such as Umberto Eco and Emilio Tomasini. I went so far – from a small ancient school to a big modern university. Today I am one of the prestige schools in the world.
