 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 27 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  +  {( \frac{1}{x}) }^{2}   - 2(x)( \frac{1}{x} ) = 27 - 2 \\   {(x -  \frac{1}{x}) }^{2}  = 25 \\ x -  \frac{1}{x}  = 5
