if \:  {x}^{2}  + 2 {y}^{2}  = 6  \: and \: 2x + 2 {y}^{2}  = 6 \\ then \: we \: can \: write \:  {x}^{2}  + 2 {y}^{2}  = 2x + 2 {y }^{2}  \\ as \: 2 {y}^{2}  \: cancels \:  {x}^{2}  = 2x \\ x = 2 \\ insert \: it \: in \: first \: equation \\ 4 + 2 {y}^{2}  = 6 \\ 2 {y}^{2}  = 2 \\  {y}^{2}  = 1 \\ y = 1 \\  \\  \\  \\ and \: finally \: the \: answer \: is \: x = 2 \: and \: y = 1
