Heya !!!

X² - 30X + 221 = 0

★ Coefficient to X² × Constant term = 1 × 221 = 221

We try to split 221 in two parts such that their sum or Subtraction will be -30 and product will be 221 .

Clearly,

-17 - 13 = -30

And,

-17 × -13 = 221

So,

X² - 30X + 221

X² - 17X - 13X + 221

X ( X - 17 ) - 13 ( X - 17 )

( X - 17 ) ( X - 13 ) = 0

( X - 17 ) = 0 OR ( X - 13 ) = 0

X = 17 OR X = 13

x^2-30x+221=0
x^2-13x-17x+221=0
x(x-13)-17(x-13)=0
(x-13)(x-17)=0
therefore,
either x=13
or x=17
