 {x}^{2}  - 8x + 12 = 0

 \implies  {x}^{2}  - 6x - 2x + 12 = 0

 \implies  x(x - 6)- 2(x - 6)= 0

 \implies  (x- 2)(x - 6)= 0

Therefore, either (x-2) =0 or (x-6)=0

So,

x - 2 = 0

 \implies x = 2

Also,

x - 6= 0

 \implies x = 6

  • The roots of the quadratic equation are 2 and 6.
