Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Linear Equations in Two Variables'.

Given question:  Find x and y:-

(x/3 + 1) , (y -2/3) = (5/3 , 1/3)

Solution: We have, (x/3 + 1) , (y -2/3) = (5/3 , 1/3) .

On comparison,

 \dfrac{x}{3} \: + \: 1 = \dfrac{5}{3}

Transposing 1 to R.H.S., we get,

 \dfrac{x}{3} = \dfrac{5}{3} - 1

 \dfrac{x}{3} = \dfrac{5 \: - \: 3}{3}

 \dfrac{x}{3} = \dfrac{2}{3}

x = 2

Similarly, on comparison,

 y \: - \:  \dfrac{2}{3} = \dfrac{1}{3}

Transposing 2/3 to R.H.S., we get,

 y = \dfrac{1 \: + \: 2}{3}

 y = \dfrac{3}{3}

y = 1

∴ x = 2

∴ y = 1
