Given :   y  + 2x  = 20     ,  6x - 5y = 12

To Find : solution (x,y) to the system of equations given

Solution:

y  + 2x  = 20    Eq1

6x - 5y = 12      Eq2

5 * eq1  + Eq2

=> 5y  + 10x  + 6x  - 5y  = 100 + 12

=> 16x  = 112

=> x  = 7

putting x = 7 in eq1

=> y + 2(7)  = 20

=> y + 14 = 20

=> y = 6

x  = 7  & y = 6

(7 , 6)  is the solution to the system of equations above
