Texting has always been of great importance ever since man learnt to speak and write languages. Texting, the art of using words in written and spoken communication has always been as essential as is internet these days. In the past texting was quite limited. Only writers, scribes, literate and educated people, and typists used it.

As man marched into 21st century, there was IT revolution. Internet, mobile-phones, tabs, and internet has made texting indispensable for everyone. Everything is available online. Computers have already taken over each and every field. Tell me an area or sphere where computers are not being used! Education, industry, finance, defense, teaching, learning, research, medicine, accounting, entertainment, internet, online teaching, telecommunication, media, and space research and exploration. It is computer, computer everywhere. Where computers are there texting is. Man has become so dexterous at texting. His speed of typing has broken all the previous records.

Zillions of words are exchanged through texting one another in a second on internet. People are busy texting each other on social-networking sites along with pictures, audios and videos. It is true never in the history of mankind was texting so crucial as it is in the contemporary time! The entire internet based world activities will come to a standstill without texting. Education, industry, finance, defense, teaching, learning, research, medicine, accounting, entertainment, internet, online teaching, telecommunication, media, and space research and exploration will stall without texting.

Since texting has become so crucial, one must aim at improving his texting skills. One must be fluent in texting to avail so much of information available on internet or other sources.

Texting is a new way of communicating everyone you know on the go as it just requires and internet connection to send messages or even offline you can send through your mobile network. At first, people used to send letters and it would take a week or two to reach and then the other person would require the same time to send messages through, it was a long procedure.
Texting is important for social survival because if you need to be up to date with everything going around and if you want to be invited to the events going around you, texting is the medium for that nowadays. And if you are not using it then you are not part of the society messages and change of plans everything is conveyed through texting.
As texting has its advantages it also has drawbacks, texting is the best way to misinterpret what the other person has to say, so it results in a lot of fights in people and the concept of think before you speak is completely lost after the introduction of texting people text and think later, so there should be a balance.
