Given

BC = base = 8 cm

AB = 16 cm

height corresponding to BC = 10 cm

To answer

Area of triangle ABC = ?

Height corresponding to side AB = ?

Solution

Area of triangle ABC = 1/2 * Base * Height to BC

= 1/2 * BC * Height

= 1/2 * 8 * 10

= 40 cm^2

Area of ΔABC = 40 cm^2

Now taking base as AB to find its corresponding Height

Area of ΔABC = 1/2 * Base * Height (H)

40 = 1/2 * AB * H

40 = 1/2 * 16 * H

40/8 = H

5 cm = H

Height corresponding to AB = 16 cm
