Th sum of ages of father and is sons 60 years. After 14 years , fathers age will be three times the age of the son. Find their present ages

let father's age be x
son's age = 60-x
(since sum of their both ages = 60)

After 14 years,
father's age= x+14
son's age = 60-x+14= 74-x.

Given,
Fathers age= 3(age of his son)
=> x+14= 3(74-x)
=> x+14= 222-3x
=> 4x= 208
=> x= 52

and Son's age 60-x= 60-52= 8.

so present age of father=60-x
After 14 years the age of son=x+14
and that of father=74-x
As per question, 74-x=3(x+14)
or74-x=3x+42
or,4x=32
or,x=8 son age
father age=60-8=52year.
