Solution:

Let the present age of son x.

x + father's age = 60
Father's age = 60 - x

After 14 years:

(60 - x) + 14 = 3(x + 14)
74 - x = 3x + 42
4x = 32
x = Son's present age = 8 years.
Father's present age = 52 years.
I hope it help you.....

HEY MATE M HERE TO HELP YOU OUT M_M

Let the age of the father be' x 'and his son be' y '

GIVEN =     X + Y = 60 ------------- enq 1

According to the question ,, After 14 years

( X + 14 ) = 3( Y + 14 )

X + 14 = 3Y + 42

X -3Y  = 28 ----------------eqn 2 \

subtracting eqn 2 with eqn 1 ,,, we obtain

X + Y = 60

X - 3Y = 28

-    +       -

∴          4y  =  32

y   =    8

Finding x by puting the value of  y in eqn 1

X + 8 = 60

X = 52

∴   The age of the father is 52 years and the age  of the son is 8 years.
