Solution:

2x+5y=1,

x        y

-2        1

3        -1

Plot these two points and draw a straight line passing through these points

2x+3y=3

x          y

0          1

3          - 1

Plot these two points and draw a straight line passing through these points

Both lines intersects at ( 3 , - 1)

Hence (3 , -1)  is the solution :

2x+5y=1

2x+3y=3

=> 2y = - 2

=> y = - 1

=> 2x + 3(-1) = 3

=> 2x = 6

=> x = 3
