y^{2} +\frac{1}{3}y=2 \\  \frac{3 {y}^{2}  + y}{3}  = 2 \\ 3 {y}^{2}  + y = 6 \\  3{y}^{2}  + y - 6 = 0 \\ 3 {y}^{2}  + 3y - 2y - 6 = 0 \\ 3y(y + 1) - 2(y + 1)  = 0\\ (3y - 2)(y + 1) = 0 \\ 3y - 2 = 0  \:  \:  \:  \: or \:  \: y + 1  = 0\\\ 3y = 2  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: or \:  \:  \:  \:y =  - 1 \\ y =  \frac{2}{3}
