Answer:

Length = 1

Breadth = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L+b)

Area = L*b

Perimeter given = 10m

=> 2(L+b) = 10

L+b = 10/2

L+b = 5-----------(1)

area= L*b

area given = 1/4

L x b = 1/4

L= 1/4*b

L=b/4-------------(2)

From (1) and (2)

By substituting the values we get,

L+b=5

\frac{b}{4}  + b = 5

\frac{b}{4} +\frac{4b}{4}  = 5

\frac{5b}{4} = \frac{5}{1}

By cross multiplication,

5b=5*4

5b = 20

⇒b=4

From (1)

L+b = 5

L+ 4 = 5

L= 5-4

⇒L = 1

Hope it helped :)
