The Eastern Ghats Mountain Ranges are extends from Orissa to Tamil Nadu. It is more eroded than the Western Ghats. It is drained by the Godavari and the Krishna River. Vishakhapatnam Peak is the highest peak of this range. Mahendragiri is the second highest peak of this range. It continues as the Javadi and Shevaroy hills in the south-west of Chennai, beyond which they merge with the Western Ghats. Javadi range of hills is the largest hills ranges in the Eastern Ghats in northern Tamil Nadu state, south-eastern India which is about 50 miles (80 km) wide and 20 miles (32 km) long that bisected into eastern and western sections by the Cheyyar and Agaram rivers, tributaries of the Palar River.
The northernmost part of the Eastern Ghats is called Simulia which is found in the mountains of Orissa. Meghasini or Meghasani (the seat of the clouds) is the highest peak of this region. Malayagiri is the highest peak of the region. The Karanthamalai is located in the southern part of this region and Sirumalai Hills located in the south of Tamil Nadu. The central region of the Eastern Ghats comprise of 2 parallel ranges, namely the lower Velikonda Range in the east, and the higher Palikonda-Lankamalla-Nallamalla Ranges in the west. Asia's biggest tiger reserve, Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Sanctuary is located in the Nallamala range of Eastern Ghats.
