Dalit Literature:

The literary writing, plays, poems or essays that highlights the concern of Dalits of India is known as the Dalit Literature. Dalits are the people who are considered as born in low caste as per Varnashrama Dharma. Even though they have more than 3000 years of History in the history pages of India, all of them are speaking about their forbidden rights which are naturally theirs.  

Most of Dalit Literary works speaks out the sufferings of Dalits like how they have been restricted from wearing even footwear those days, feudal systems that increased their sufferings, restrictions of using public spaces and water.

Most of the Dalit literature works were based on the protesting mindset against the varnashrama system and  emphasizing equal rights for everyone on the land.
