A blood disorder involving lower-than-normal amounts of an oxygen-carrying protein.

Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder characterised by less oxygen-carrying protein (haemoglobin) and fewer red blood cells in the body than normal.

a)Dependence is characterized by the symptoms of tolerance and withdrawal. While it is possible to have a physical dependence without being addicted, addiction is usually right around the corner. Addiction is marked by a change in behavior caused by the biochemical changes in the brain after continued substance abuse.

b)goitre

a swelling in the front of the throat caused by an increase in the size of the thyroid gland

c)hiv aids

HIV causes AIDS and interferes with the body's ability to fight infections.

The virus can be transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen or vaginal fluids.

d) colour blindness

A reduced ability to distinguish between certain colours.

The condition is often inherited. Other causes include certain eye diseases and medication. More men than women are affected.
