Thallophytes are the simplest of plants meaning that the plant body is not differentiated into root, stem and leaves. Plants may be unicellular or multicellular. They may be green due to the presence of chlorophyll (Chlamydomonas, volvox, spirogyra and ulothrix) or non-green due to the absence of chlorophyll. (Mushroom, yeast and mucor).
