If each rack consist of 10 boxes of a chalk stick, then the total number of the box on 4 racks will be

4X 10 = 40

Now, the second part is 10 of the boxes are in use which means that the total amount of box left is= 40 – 10 = 30.

Now the fraction will be

Remained/ total = 30/ 40 = 3 / 4 is the fraction remain in the rack

The average salary of three employees is $1000 per week. If one employee earns $1100 and other earns $500, how much will the third employee earn?

We know the average salary of three employees ($1000), the amount that two earn ($1100 and $500), but are missing the amount earned by the third employee.

Averages can be calculated with the help of mean formula (sum / count). The third employee’s salary can be notated as X in this scenario. For instance:

(2 + X) / 3 (*3) = 2 (*3)

2 + X (-2) = 6 (-2)

X = 4

Given the example:

(1100 + 500 + X) / 3 (* 3) = 1000 (* 3)

1100 + 500 + X (-500) = 3000 (-500)

1100 + X (-1100) = 2500 (-1100)

X = $1400

Hope it's helpful....✌
