calcium hydroxide {Ca(OH)2}, also known as slaked lime can be used or calcium oxide (CaO), also known as quick lime can be used as they are basic in nature and can neutralize the acidic soil

if the soil is acidic then liming is the best option. this process is known as LIMING ACIDIC SOIL. in this method, we simply add lime in the soil. two materials that can be added to soil are:

  1. quick lime or burnt lime (calcium + oxygen=CaO)
  2. slaked lime (calcium+oxygen+hydrogen = Ca(OH)2)

you can use any of these lime to neutralize soil.
