minority were becoming more and more aggressive. It is also important to note that she was among the ninety

thousand Tamils in Sri Lanka who had to flee from the country during the particular period. So, the poem

remains a credible illustration of Arasanayagam’s genuine sorrow and hate towards ethnic commotions.
