The 2nd and the 5th term of an A.P. is - 4 and 8 respectively. Find the 3

rd term of an A.P.​

a5 = 8

i.e a+1d = -4____1

a+4d = +8 ____2

Therefore , d= 4/3.....

Thus , from eqn 1

a+4/3 =-4

a = -4-4/3

a= -5.3

Therefore , value of A3 will be

A3=a+2d

-5.3 +2(4/3)

=3.3 ...
