the 3rd term of an A.P is 18 and 7th term is 30. find 17th term.

Here given,
⇒a3=18
⇒a+2d=18------- (1)
And
⇒a7=30
⇒a+6d=30-------(2)

Now , subtract 1 from 2 we get ,
⇒4d=12
⇒d=12/4
⇒d=3.
Now put d=3 in eqn (1)
⇒a+2(3)=18
⇒a=18-6
⇒a=12.

To find 17th term .
⇒a+16(d)
⇒12+16(3)
⇒12+48
⇒60.

Hence the 17th term of an A.P is 60.
