The 4th term from the end of an ap -10,-7,-4...... 47 is 35

As the sequence is an ap,

The first term, a is -10,

common difference, d is = -7 - (-10) = -7 + 10 = 3

nth term in an AP is = a + (n-1)d

47 is the:

-10 + (n-1)*3 = 47

⇒ -10 + 3n - 3 = 47

⇒ 3n =  60

⇒ n = 20

So, 47 is the 20th term.

4th term from the end is the 16th term, which is

a + (16-1)d

= -10 + 15*3

= -10 + 45

= 35

35 is the required term.
