Answer:

from the last the A.P. is like this

49,.............,-8 ,-11

so I this case a= 49.

and. D= —3.

n = 4

formula for finding 4th term of this A.P is. Ān = a+(n—1)d

so we put value of a,n,d in this formula

Ān= 49+(4—1)(-3)

Ān = 49+(3)(-3)

Ān = 40 Ans

From end means reverse the order

49,......-8,-11

Now 1 term of an AP is 49

Commen difference = -11 - (-8)

                                =  -11 +8

                           d   =  -3

an=a +(n-1) d

a4=49+(4-1)-3

a4=49-9

a4=40

OPTION (A) 40 is the answer
