The 6th and the 17th terms of an AP are 21 and 54 respectively . Find the 40th term

Step-by-step explanation:

a+5d=21 ----- (1)

a+16d=54----(2)

subtract (1) from (2)

11d=33

d=3 substitute d in equation to get a value

a+5×3=21 ; a=6

40th term =a+39d

=6+39×3

therefore; 40th term of an A.P is 123
