Given:-

  • An A.P 5, 2, -1, -4, …., -31.

To Find:-

  • 6th term from the end of the AP.

Formula Used:-

  • {\boxed{\bf{a_n=a+(n-1)d}}}

Solution:-

Given A.P :- 5, 2, -1, -4, …., -31.

We have to find the 6th term from the end. To Find it we will reverse the A.P to make it easier to find.

Reversed A.P :- -31, ...., -4, -1, 2, 5.

Using Formula,

\sf :\implies\:a_n=a+(n-1)d

Here,

  • a = -31
  • n = 6
  • d = 5 - 2 = 3

Putting Values,

\sf :\implies\:a_n=-31+(6-1)3

\sf :\implies\:a_n=-31+5\times 3

\sf :\implies\:a_n=-31+15

\sf :\implies\:a_n=-16

Hence, The 6th term from the end of the given A.P is -16.

[ Option 4 is correct ].
