the 8th term oa ap is equal to 3 times its 3rd term. if its 6th term is 22, find ap?

given ,

an = a0 + (n-1)d (formula for nth term)

a8 = 3( a3)

a0+ 7d = 3( a0 + 2d)

a0 + 7d = 3a0 + 6d

2a0 = d  (or) a0 = d/2 -----> (1)

a6 = a0 + 5d  = d/2 + 5d

= 11d /2 = 22

d = 4

so, a0 =2

a8 = a0 + 7d = 2 + 28 = 30

a3 = a0 +2d = 2 + 8 = 10
