The absolute refractive index of glass is 1.5 . If velocity of light in water is given by 2.8×10^8 m/s. find the refractive index of water with respect to glass.​

That means,

\frac{c}{v} = 1.5

c = 3 × 10^{8}

So,

\frac{3 * 10^{8} }{1.5} = v\\v = 2 * 10^{8}

Velocity of light is glass is 2 × 10^{8}

Now,

Refractive index of water with respect to glass = \frac{v_{w} }{v_{g}} \\

\frac{2.8*10^{8} }{2*10^{8} }

= 1.4
