and abosolute refractive index of Ruby is speed of light in air : speed of light in Ruby

so

(3×10^8)/speed of light in ruby =1.7


on solving speed of light In ruby is 3×10^8/1.7=1.76×10^8

so answer is 1.76 into 10 power 8 m/s
