R.I. of Benzene = 1.5 (i)

R.I. of Kerosene = 1.44 (ii)

so R.I. of Bezene w.r.t Kerosene = (i) / (ii)

= 1.04167

Speed of light in air=3x10^8

Refractive index of benzene =1. 50

=3x10^8/speed of light in benzene Speed of light in benzene =

3x10^8/1.5

Refractive index of kerosene

=3x10^8/speed of light in kerosene

Speed of light in kerosene

=3x10^8/1.44

Refractive index of benzene with respect to kerozene

=speed of light in benzene ÷speed of light in ketosene

=(3x10^8/1. 5 )÷(3x10^8/1. 44)

=1. 44/1. 5

=0. 96
