The absolute refractive indices and benzene and kerosene are 1.50 and 1.44

respectively what is the refractive index of benzene with respect to kerosene.

find benzene with respect kerosene . so given by

n1=1.50    n2=1.44  where n1 and  n2 are absolute refractive  indicates  of

benzene and kerosene respectively .

Refractive indices of benzene with respect kerosene =refractive index of kerosene /refractive index of benzene .

n1 2=n2/n1=1.44/1.50=0.96 is answer

refractive index of benzene with respect to kerosene is 0.96
