The acceleration due to gravity at a place is 0.2 m/s 2. Find its height above the earth's surface.

acceleration due to gravity is expressed as :

g = (GM)/H2

where G is the universal gravitational constant

M is the mass of earth

and H is the distance between the point of observation and the center of earth.

thus if g = 0.2 m/ss

then H can be calculated and height above the earth's surface

h = H - aR

where R is the radius of Earth
