The acceleration of an object could be zero even when several forces are acting on it . Is this statement correct ? If yes , give reason .

yes the statement is correct .
Consider 10 forces are applied pm the box. If half of them get divided and apply forces in opposite direction with the equal force then both the forces would be cancelled out.
