The additive inverse of 2/3 is -2/3. Notice that the numbers 2/3 + (-2/3) = 0. The operative words here are “Additive” and “Inverse”. If the original number is positive, the additive inverse of that number MUST be negative (and vise versa). If the sum of the two numbers do NOT equal zero, you have not found the additive inverse.
