The adjacent figure HOPE is a parallelogram. Find the angle

To find :- the values of x, y and z.

Solution :-

40° + z = 70° ( corresponding angles )

or, z = 70° - 40° = 30°

The value of z is 30°.

x = angle HOP ( opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal )

angle HOP = 180° - 70° ( Linear Pair )

angle HOP = 110°.

The value of x is 110°.

y = angle EHP ( alternate interior angles )

y = 40°.

The value of y is 40°.
