the adjacent sides of a parallelogram ABCD are AB = 34, BC = 20 cm and diagonal AC = 42 find the area of the parallelogram

Area of parallelogram=2× area triangle ABC.
Now solve using herons formula

area of parallelogram= area of triangle abc + area of triangle adc.

Now area of tribngle by heron's formula = 336 square cm.

We know diagonal divide the parallelogram in two equal halves.


There fore area of parallelogram abcd = 2(area abc).
= 2 * 336
= 672 squre cm.
