Given: The adjacent sides of a parallelogram are 20cm and 25cm and the perpendicular distance between the longer sides is 10 cm.

To find: We have to find the distance between the shorter sides.

Solution:

To determine the distance between the shorter sides we have to follow the below steps as follows-

The area of a parallelogram is given as the multiplication of base and height between the sides.

Thus the area of the parallelogram will be-

Area=25×10

Area=250

Let the distance between the shorter sides be x.

So, the area can be given as-

Area=20×x

Now we can write-

250 = 20x \\ x = 12.5

The value of x is 12.5.

The distance between the shorter sides is 12.5cm.
