The adjoining diagram shows a wave travelling in space. The wave reaches from o to a in 2s. Find the (i) frequency (ii) wavelength of the wave.

Electromagnetic waves travel at the speed of light ( 299,792,458 metres per second).  Their frequency and wavelength can be determined by a formula (picture attached)

1) “Frequency – 1/t (in sec.)”

         =1/2

         =0.5 Hz

2) “Wavelength of a wave  = C / Lambda (as shown in the picture)”

           =3x10^8/.5

           =6x10^8 metres
