Answer:

The Area of whole land = 10m × 5 m = 50 meter sq

The are of whole flower bed = 3.14 × 2 × 2 = 12.56 m sq

The area of lawn excluding area of flower bed = 37.44 m sq

The Circumfrence of flower bed = 12.56 m sq

Given Question:

  • The adjoining figure represents a Rectangular lawn with a circular flower bed in the middle

To Find:-

  • Area of whole land.
  • Area of flower bed.
  • Area of lawn excluding area of flower bed.
  • Circumference of flower bed.

Understanding the Question:

The Questions say that the Attachment shows the Rectangular lawn with circular Flower bed that places in the middle of the rectangular lawn . According to given Question , we have to find the area of whole land means the area of Rectangular lawn . By using the formula of Area of Rectangle ! we will find the area of whole lawn then To find the area of Circle. because radius is given so. after it ! To find the area of lawn excepting the area of flower bed so, we will subtract the Value that we have find . then to find circumference of flower bed.

Formula to be used:-

• Area of Rectangle = \frak\pink{~Length \times breadth}

• Area of Circle = \frak\pink{  \pi r²}

• Circumference of circle = \frak\pink{~2 \pi r}

Solution:

(i) the area of the whole land

Ans:

First, We have to find the area of Rectangular lawn so, we will use the formula of Area of Rectangle.

:\implies\sf{~Length ~= 10m}

:\implies\sf{~Breadth ~= 5cm}

:\implies\sf{~Area~of~Rectangle = Length \times Breadth }

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~:\implies \sf{10 \times  5 }
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~:\implies \sf\orange{ 50m² }

Hence, The area of Rectangular lawn is 50m²

(ii) the area of the flower bed

Ans:

Now, To find the area of flower bed so, we will use the formula of Area of Circle.

\begin{gathered}:\implies\sf{~Radius = 2m}\\\\\\\: :\implies\sf{~Area~of~Circle =~ \pi r² }\\\\\\\: :\implies\sf {~ 3.14 × 2 × 2} \\  \\  \\ :\implies\sf{ 12.56m²}\end{gathered}

\therefore {\underline {\frak{~12.56m² ~is~the~area~of~Flower~bed}}}

(iii) the area of the lawn excluding the area of the flower bed

Ans:

Here, we will subtract the area of Rectangle with area of circular flower bed So,

:\implies\sf{~Lawn ~in~ Excluding ~Circle = 50 - 12.56}

:\implies\sf{~37.44m²}

Area of the lawn excluding the area of the flower bed is 37.44m²

(iv) the circumference of the flower bed.

Ans: The radius of the given circle is 2 cm so,

:\implies\sf{~Circumference ~of~Circle = 2 \pi r}

:\implies\sf {~ 2 \times 3.14 \times 2 }

:\implies\sf {~ 12.56m }

\therefore The circumference of Circle is 12.56m

Additional Information:

  • Perimter of Square = 4 × Side
  • Perimter of Rectangle = 2 × (L + B)
  • Perimter (Circumference) of Circle =  {2 \pi r}
  • Area of Sqaure = Side × Side or Side²
  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Area of Circle = { \pi r²}.
