the adjoining figure shows a racing track consisting of two parallel stretches which is 119 M long and 10 metre wide its other two end are semicircular the inner distance between the two parallel Streches is 70 m evaluate:
(a) the distance around the track along its outer edge.
(b) the area of the track.​

The track is in shape of two circles with same centre

So, the distance around the track along its outer edge will be

Diameter of inner circle + (2 × Width of the track)

= 70m + 2 × 10m

= 90m

Area of the track = Area of outer circle - Area of inner circle

= 22/7×(r)^2 - 22/7×(r)^2

= 6364 - 3850

= 2514 m^2

.
