The adjoining figure shows a rectangle ABCD.
Find the area of the shaded part.​

Hey Mate!!

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

=> 14 × 20

=> 280 cm^2

There are 2 identical semi-circles in the figure. Thus, by adding both semi-circles, we get one whole circle.

Area of circle = πr^2

=> 22/7 × 7^2

=> 22/7 × 49

=> 22 × 7

=> 154 cm^2

Area of shaded region:

Area of rectangle - Area of circle

=> 280 - 154

=> 176 cm^2
