Find the area of the square:

Area = length x length

Area = 8 x 8 = 64 cm²

Find the radius:

Radius = Diameter ÷ 2

Radius = 8 ÷ 2 = 4 cm

Find the area of the two semicircle:

Area of the two semicircle = Area of 1 full circle

Area = πr²

Area = π(4)² = 50.29 cm²

Find area of the shaded parts:

Area of the shaded parts = Area of square - Area of the 2 semicircle

Area of the shaded part = 64 - 50.29 = 13.71 cm²

Answer: The area of the shaded parts is 13.71 cm²
